Xdm slides.
The XDM slide is too narrow to low mount the RMR with the mounting lugs. The RMR can handle the cycling of the slide, and even if you mount it on the slide, it takes some practice to find the dot. The dual mounted sights are a bit busy and I don't think make a better shooting picture. The XD Specialists - Our web store is now online!
Since I want to try a red dot on my XDM 4.5 9mm Elite, I switched in the 9mm OSP slide and switched the barrels. My alternative was to pay $250-300 for a gunsmith to drill holes into the original non-OSP slide. The only remaining hurdle is that the OSP slide still has suppressor height sights. Ive never replaced handgun sights.The easiest way to get a stainless slide "look" is to have one of the aftermarket companies (or Springfield themselves) refinish the slide. There are NO slides available aftermarket or from Springfield to buy. Firearms: None. All were lost in an unfortunate boating accident on Tempe Townlake.XD .45 in 4" and 5". I've had an XD9 for several months and I have put at least 2500 rounds thru it. The slide is very difficult for me. I've tried several methods. I have to have my hands in just the right position to be successful. It was difficult from day 1 and never got any better.

Even fully loaded XDM mags with 19 rounds of 9mm seat easily into the pistol and cycle cleanly every time. It was evident in shooting fast ammo such as this 9mm at 1,150 fps that the lightening cut in the XDM 5.25 slide was causing the weapon to cycle quickly. I’m sure that with reduced-power competition loads, this pistol will shoot like butter.
A lighter spring might actually be worse during shooting. The slide tends to slam back harder, and cause more felt recoil. With your weapon hand grab the grip in a normal fashion with your finger off the trigger.
