I bought a pound for resting and finally got around to testing it at the range yesterday with the Hornady 160 FTX bullet. These are factory seconds 77gr hpbt from powder valley. Hodgdon site says start w/ COL = 2.260 & 22.5 gr CFE223 Max load of 24.3 gr (53,500 psi) I was planning on loading 5 rounds ea @ 22.5, 22.9, 23.3, 23.7, 24.1 and 24.3. Rifle is a 20" SPR profile CLE .223 Wylde chamber on a vltor MUR upper. and a spikes carbine extension with T2 buffer.

Not quite as flat shooting as a 77 SMK but they fragment out to 200 yards on coyotes at 2850-2900 fps. My go to load for my .223's is a 75gr Hornady match bullet and 25.5grs of CFE 223. I see CFE223 mentioned here frequently but have never used it.
