Mr Burns Mystery box I've heard averages to 1% extra bonus/8 donuts. To beat that you would have to press switch until you get a yearbook box with bonus items total 150/8=18.75%. Eg. both whales and the Murderhorn, or 5 x 4% bonus items, so it's possible but it could take a long time and cause a sore finger!

The mystery box actually has a set order it will dispense things. You can probably Google a spreadsheet. The yearbook is better I think. If you can get your bonus multiplier over 500%, you'll be set to be obtaining donuts all the time. It takes work, but once you get there, your town can basically run itself and make steady donuts for you.
