2004 Prairie 700 Fuel Problems - HELP. Wondering if some of y'all can help me out with a 2004 Prairie 700 that doesn't run. It's a fuel problem. 4 posts · Joined 2010. #1 · Sep 9, 2010. I have an '03 Prairie 360 4x. The front brakes have started to intermittently lock up. The only way to clear it is to bleed the front right brake line. After the bleeding, I can go from 5 to 20 miles w/o a problem. The first sign of trouble is a hard shimmy in the front end and then it locks up.Could a bad decompressor be causing the problem? (The spring is not broken but the groove on the shaft is a bit wallowed by the pin on the decompressor). Is there any way to loosen the chain enough to slip the decompressor off the cam? Can I go without a decompressor on this model? Where are the timing marks on this model?

If I recall correctly, I don't think the '99 400 has any detents in the shifter and linkage system, so Camo Joe is right. Unhook the linkage; if it still pops out of gear, then it's an internal problem.
