Jul 12, 2023 · In addition to celebrating the life of the late John Woodruff, a Connellsville High School graduate and 1936 Olympic gold medalist, this year’s race also honored the late Jamie McPoyle. A science teacher at Connellsville High School, McPoyle was an avid supporter of the John Woodruff 5K. He passed away in May from a rare form of cancer.
