Most new(er) players are not going to have a high survival rate, so scav runs are going to likely be necessary to help supplement their income. Scav runs can also be useful for learning new maps, as opposed to using offline mode. I like to start a play session with a scav run simply to get into the Tarkov mindset after likely playing other games. Use your scav to learn reserve and shoreline. I've only found L1, MULEs, and Meldonins. The broken crates can also spawn stims. I have one in particular that seems to spawn stims 50/50 of my scav runs.
