65 ford 5000 steering problems. This tractor has power assist steering. It turns left fine. Very hard to turn to the right. It blew a hose so I replaced with new hoses. Had cylinder rebuilt and control valve although I feel the guy was somewhat unsure about the control valve. Turns fine with the two front tires off the ground.

9600 is a good basic older tractor. Good on fuel for the power on tap. The turbo 401 is pretty bulletproof as long as the coolant has been taken care of. A few things about older Fords to remember: 1) Change oil in the injector pump when you change engine oil.
