I like the Gen4 grip frame better, but as you know the G30S uses the same size frame, just in Gen3 SF form instead of Gen4. The slide is thinner on the 30S as it uses a G36 slide (on a G30SF frame).

All were new in the box, were blue labels and were priced exactly the same.

Before I bought my G30sf I too was looking at some of the compact 1911. Bottom line it is hard to beat the mag capacity (10+1), light weight in this small of a package anywhere. The holster makes all the difference in the world. Not really, I work at Golfsmith and got to play around with the G30, G30 SF Tec, and G30 LS Tec. Not much difference between the G30 and G30 SF when it came to ball flight and direction of the ball flight.
