When you choose the difficulty menu, it shows all possible rewards and the glaive pattern is listed. Sucks that it has to be grind out but eh it is what it is.

The issue is it's super situational and hindering your power for a scenario that could never happen. And it takes up an exotic slot which could be spent on a primary (which are a lot better now with the red bar buff and heavy ammo drop rate buff) or a heavy (which generally do amazing for damage) or even just other special exotics like Arb.
