Bridge mode on xfinity router.
When I put my XB8 Gateway into bridge mode so I can use my own router the "WAN" IP address I am getting from the now bridge-mode gateway into the new router is 10.0.0.259 which is not a "normal" Public IP address but a normal WAN IP address that would be generated by DHCP which is supposedly disabled in bridge mode. Why would this be happening?

Modem works fine in normal mode, but need to enable bridge mode to my router to allow for site to site vpn to work. As soon as I ebable bridge mode the vpn starts working, but the internet connection starts dropping packets every 3 minutes for 5-6 pings and then is fine for another 3 minutes.
I just got a Motorola MT7711 to replace my Arris T25 modem that has been locking up from time to time (topic of a different forum post). The MT7711 is a bridge/router, but I can only put it in bridge mode (I have my own router) when the coax cable is not connected.
