Driving to the speedway isn't really a problem if its 6:30pm-8:30pm and 11:30pm-end of the night. Around 9pm it MIGHT take awhile to get a parking spot and you'll wait have to walk a long distance, just to wait in a long line (depends on which lot you get sent to). Police is never an issue, just don't leave alcohol/narcotics out in the open.

When you do, it's very recommended that you buy it from a friend of a friend. If you decided you must go to EDC, buy a VIP ticket before those sell out. Yeah, it's $1000, but if you buy end up buying a GA ticket off a scammer, you'll be standing at the front door at EDC, $500 short with no way into the event.
Will cost you on the way home but so will a shuttle pass off stubhub. Personally, I’ve been without shuttle passes before and I walk all the way to the exit right before it goes out to the road around the ton of cars sitting in hours of traffic and flag down a driver from there and I’m back to the strip quick. 🤷🏻♂️
