Heritage rough rider issues.
Round exploded in new heritage rough rider. I got a heritage rough rider today, brand new. I put maybe 20 rounds through, then it misfired and exploded a round. Smoke came out of the handle and shells were difficult to extract. Shooting day over. I think I had a squib in the barrel and the next round shot into it.

It was $219 with the 2nd cylinder (22WMR). Ended up getting both and quite happy about it. Shot the RR 1st time yesterday and its very accurate.Heritage Rough Rider issues Sold my older rough rider to get a new purty one, and the QC on the new one seems to be very low. Starting with the biggest issue: the cylinder turns after the trigger is pulled, and the stopper doesn't actually catch it.I have both the Rough Rider and the Wrangler. The Wrangler is better "seemed" quality - time will tell. However to my surprise, I like shooting the Rough Rider better. It is more accurate also. Now that is just my opinion with 2 guns out of many thousands and thousands. The Wrangler takes this one too - wider, more comfortable and taller in the grip frame. I had to shift the gun in my hand less when cocking the hammer between shots.
Regardless, I did exactly what you did: bought the revolver in 22lr and bought a separate 22 mag cylinder to replace it. It's been a 22 mag gun exclusively, about 500 rounds fired, no issues. However, when using it, I found that the gun would constantly misfire and only sometimes would the hammer actually hit and the bullet would go.Heritage Mfg.
